All Chicago properties are assigned one of these zoning districts by City Council. To find the zoning district for a property, look up its address or PIN and look for Zoning Assessment in the Property Report that opens.

Use this interactive table to find a zoning district that allows a use, business, or building based on a keyword. Then use the zoning filters in Property Finder to narrow your search for properties in that zoning district or group of zoning districts (as you can enter multiple zoning districts in the Property Finder filter). These zoning districts are codified in Municipal Code of Chicago chapters 17-2 through 17-7.
Additionally, Chicago Cityscape has created custom groups of zoning districts that are used in Property Finder filters How to use this table: Find the appropriate zoning district or set of zoning districts in the table above and then it may be possible to use one of the custom groups to more quickly filter in Property Finder.
We update our copy of the Chicago zoning map every month or two. Every Zoning Assessment will indicate the map vintage.
