We’ve finished adding property tax data from 2015 for millions of properties in Cook County to various features and functions across Chicago Cityscape. This data includes the amount of property tax a property owner was billed, how much their assessment was, and what their tax rate is.
The property tax payer’s name and address is also listed — this is often the property tax owner, but can also be the manager, the person or organization which receives and handles paying the property tax.
With our property tax data Pro members can:
- See the change in actual property taxes year to year for a single property (look at Wrigley Field)
- Find properties by person or organization name, address, or PIN
- See the changes for properties in any neighborhood, community area, township, or Place that you draw and define — download data for all of the properties in the Central Business District
- Find property tax payers by name and list all of the properties they own or manage
- Export and download the data in bulk for offline analysis in your own applications
This information is only available to our Pro members, and we offer a free, 14-day trial so you can see the data in action.
With this information we determined that a Logan Square property owner mentioned in a recent DNAinfo article saw an increase in their property taxes of 122 percent from 2009 to 2015. We have historical data for 7 years for most properties (going back to 2009), and 5 and 6 years for other properties.
Contact us if you have any questions on how to access the data. We’ve attempted to show data for all Cook County PINs but we may have missed some. If you’re searching for specific PINs and we aren’t showing data for it, contact us and we’ll obtain the data for that PIN.
We will upload property tax data from 2016 when the second bill is sent out in summer of 2017.
