The latest two organizations are Central Lake View Neighbors and Streeterville Organization of Active Residents (commonly known as SOAR). They join 38 other neighborhood groups across Chicago.
We map neighborhood organizations for two reasons:
- Members of these local interest groups want to see what’s happening in their well-defined boundaries, in the same way that someone wants to see what’s happening in their community or ward.
- These local interest groups have a varying degree of influence on development in neighborhoods because of how alders rely on their input on proposals within their boundaries. Developers and residents alike should know where these boundaries are and who represents them.
